World AIDS Day Observance

World aids day celebration

As a part of the World AIDS Day observance, PWN+ conducted a program at Gurukul Lutheran Theological College on 5th December 2022. 40 people including WLHIV, members of the transgender community, staff, and students of the college attended the program. P. Kousalya, President of PWN+ shared the 20-year journey of PWN+ and WLHIV representatives shared the challenges, struggles, and hope that they confronted in their positive life. All of them light the candles, took pledge to stop the infection in the country.

In association with the Red Ribbon Club, PWN+ observed World AIDS Day at Ethiraj College on 1st December 2022. Around 3000 students participated in the program. Along with the candle lighting ceremony, the following topics also discuss the basics of HIV, treatment facilities, side effects of ART, challenges, and legal rights of a positive person for the awareness of the students. The students and staff actively participated in the discussion and cleared their doubts and misconception about HIV/AIDS.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas celebration and World AIDS Day conducted together at St. Michael Church on 23rd December 2022. Pastor Sam and his wife were present at the function. The pastor’s wife wished Christmas wishes followed by a group prayer.

Two WLHIV shared their life experiences. They lighted candles as the observance of World AIDS Day and thanked all well-wishers and supporters for their timely help. At the end of the program, Pastor distributed the Christmas gifts to all. Everyone expresses their joy and Christmas wish to one another.
